We're redefining cancer care
We believe those facing cancer are deserving of better treatment, with improved cancer technology and personalised care that can change lives. Cancer treatment and care is constantly evolving and, as a global organisation, GenesisCare is at the cutting edge of new technologies, advanced diagnostic imaging, and the latest evidence-based treatments from around the world.
We use some of the most advanced techniques to treat all types of adult cancers, including precision radiotherapy techniques which are proven to be safe and effective for difficult-to-treat tumours while limiting dose to healthy tissue, and high dose radiotherapy for shorter treatment duration.
If you need treatment, you can start within days or even hours of a diagnosis if needed.
Our highly experienced cancer experts work as teams to ensure that every patient has access to world-class cancer care within days of diagnosis.
All our consultants also work for large regional NHS hospitals which means they have extensive experience and are familiar with the local healthcare networks.
It’s important that you have fast access to the best possible treatment for you and this may be one of the reasons you chose to use private medical insurance or pay for your treatment yourself.
Following a quick referral process, we provide a complete care plan, focused on you, not just your condition. We offer a tailored exercise medicine programme with our dedicated physiotherapists and wellbeing therapies through our unique partnership with cancer charity, Penny Brohn UK.
Newer radiotherapy systems for cancer treatment can have better results. But they’re not available everywhere.
At GenesisCare we have the latest generation systems to deliver highly targeted radiotherapy for effective tumour treatments with fewer side effects.
For some types of cancer, it’s possible to have radiotherapy in fewer treatments (fractions) without reducing how well it works. This is called hypofractionation.
In some cases, you can have radiotherapy for breast or prostate cancer in just five visits.
This often means fewer visits with fewer side effects, and some cancers can respond well to a smaller number of higher doses.
Real experiences shared
I was relieved that my private medical insurance meant I could choose my clinician and where I would be treated
- Marco, patient at GenesisCare
What world-class cancer care means to our patients
Our patients, Marco and Anne, share how they have been able to get on with their lives after after they had cancer treatment at GenesisCare.
We’re grateful to them, and many others, for sharing their stories with us to help people with cancer through their own treatment journey.
Marco chose private cancer care so he could choose his consultant and where he was treated. Marco says, "Everyone knew my history and was able to collaborate efficiently and effectively. The team at GenesisCare were so supportive and went out of their way to ensure I got the very best care possible"
56-year-old Marco, who lives with his family in Hampshire, was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in 2021 after going to his GP for a persistent sore throat. He said opting for private cancer treatment meant he could choose a leading consultant and where he was treated.
Marco selected leading expert, Dr Nicola Dallas, Consultant Oncologist at GenesisCare in Windsor, who explained his treatment options. Dr Dallas worked alongside Professor Stuart Winter, an experienced head and neck surgeon, as well as our radiographers and cancer nurses, to provide Marco with had a seamless pathway between surgery and his subsequent treatments.
Marco has benefitted fully from the additional services available to GenesisCare patients – the exercise clinic and complementary therapies – and has already achieved an excellent functional outcome following treatment. He'll continue to have regular appointments with his consultant to monitor his progress.
He says, “To me, 'cancer' is no longer a gloomy process or negative word, it’s just cancer. The attitude of the GenesisCare team is always positive and upbeat and I felt like part of the team and that we were all in it together.”
Anne used her private medical insurance after her breast cancer diagnosis. She says “I wanted to find out exactly what I was dealing with as soon as possible and knew the importance of being treated quickly, but I was told that it would take weeks to organise. That’s when I decided to use my private medical insurance (PMI) to speed things up – it just made sense."
Following a routine mammogram, Anne, aged 60, was shocked to learn that she had developed breast cancer. Here, she shares her story.
"My oncologist was very receptive to me using my PMI and it was very easy, everything was sorted out for me.
"I chose GenesisCare for my radiotherapy because they have all the latest treatments and technologies and after visiting the centre, I immediately felt protected and wanted to be cared for here.
"I was quickly referred to a leading expert who assessed me and organised my radiotherapy immediately.
"I had special exercise sessions at their quiet on-site gym where the physiotherapist developed a personal exercise programme for me. This made a huge difference to me and my recovery. I also took advantage of the wellbeing treatments provided through GenesisCare’s partnership with Penny Brohn UK.
"I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend GenesisCare to any of my family or friends. If you’re considering treatment, go and visit your local centre and see for yourself what you could be experiencing."
