GenesisCare, Bunbury offers access to personalised cancer care services including radiation therapy to the local and regional community.
Our GenesisCare, Bunbury team aim to offer a high-quality cancer care experience designed to help achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.
GenesisCare, Bunbury is located on the South West Health Campus. The centre was purpose-built to offer convenient and coordinated access across a range of services with colleagues at St John of God and Bunbury Regional Hospitals.
Our team works with local and metropolitan surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, palliative care, allied health teams, cancer nurse coordinators, and consumer groups to help deliver patient care.
The Bunbury team aim to offer rapid access to consultation and treatment, delivered using advanced radiation therapy technology.
Our treatments and services
Radiation Oncology
Radiation therapy uses high energy X-rays or other particles to treat cancer and can be used at all stages. Radiation therapy techniques can include: External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT), Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR), and specialised non-surgical treatment for skin cancer.

At GenesisCare, Bunbury we offer access to a range of Allied health services, all tailored to support your needs. One of your treatment team will discuss the most suitable options with you.
Exercise Therapy
Considerable research and clinical evidence has established that exercise may be beneficial for people with cancer; however, there is no one-size-fits-all approach.1,2 Every person’s circumstances are unique and these should be take into account. Tailored exercise programs designed by an exercise professional that include both aerobic and resistance training activities have been shown to provide benefits.3 To learn more about incorporating exercise during your cancer journey, please speak with your doctor and treatment team.
Transport for medical appointments is provided for a small fee by SJOG Bunbury in conjunction with BESS Home and Community Care. For more information, contact BESS in Busselton on 08 9754 4716 or www.bess.org.au/transport
In conjunction with Bethanie Community Services, SJOG Bunbury, provides accommodation for PATS-eligible patients who are required to live away from home during their treatment. Further information can be obtained from the Bethanie office in Bunbury on 1300 883 893 or www.bethanie.com.au
