Dr Harminder Takhar holds dual qualifications in medicine and pharmacy. He completed his medical degree at Flinders University in South Australia in 2007 and his pharmacy degree at Curtin University in Western Australia in 2000.
Dr Takhar has received extensive training at leading cancer centes, including the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Flinders Cancer Innovation Centre, where he has developed deep experience in oncology.
As a lead researcher in lung cancer, Dr. Takhar has significant experience in Phase I, II, and III clinical trials at the Cancer Clinical Trials Unit. He completed a clinical research fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2014 and serves as the co-chair of the lung cancer multidisciplinary meeting.
Dr. Takhar is the Medical Director of Cancer Clinical Services at Royal Adelaide Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He previously led the medical oncology service at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Dr. Takhar also provides consultations at several esteemed medical facilities, including Calvary North Adelaide, Calvary Central Districts, and St. Andrews Medical Centre.
