Dr Herbert qualified in medicine at Birmingham University in 2000 and trained in Clinical Oncology in Bristol where he was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist in 2011. He completed his oncology training as a clinical research fellow at the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver, Canada, where he specialised in stereotactic radiosurgery and the treatment of benign and malignant adult brain tumours.
He has an interest in technical radiotherapy, specialising in the treatment of adult brain tumours, including stereotactic radiosurgery, and skin tumours, in particular malignant melanoma. Dr Herbert has published work on stereotactic radiosurgery and external beam radiotherapy in international, peer reviewed journals.
