Special clinical interests in upper gastrointestinal cancer, neuroendocrine tumours, gastrointestinal stromal tumours and gynaecological cancer.

Dr Justin Waters undertook medical training at Cambridge University, gaining a BA degree in Genetics, and subsequently worked at the Royal London Hospital. He completed his general medical training at St Mary’s Hospital London and the Central Middlesex Hospital, gaining the MRCP qualification and entered the Medical Oncology specialty at SHO level at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

Dr Waters then studied for a PhD at the Institute of Cancer Research and Royal Marsden Hospital before commencing specialist registrar training in Medical Oncology on the Royal Marsden Hospital SpR rotation.

He received his certificate of specialist training in Medical Oncology in July 2004 and was appointed to his current position in September 2004.

Dr Waters is a member of the Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Research and Trials Committee and the Gynaecological Cancer Research and Trials Committee for the Kent and Medway Cancer Collaborative.

Dr Waters has served as local Principal Investigator (PI) for more than 20 clinical research trials in upper GI, neuroendocrine and ovarian cancer.
